Annual Skechers 10/29

Riviera's goal is to register 150 walkers this year!  The $30 registration fee comes directly back to Riviera school.  If Riviera has 100 walkers....an additional $1000 will come back to the school.  With proceeds from this event, Riviera would like to paint a large mural on campus and paint some large game boards onto the blacktop!

Be sure to join the Riviera Elementary School team and select Torrance Education Foundation!  See attached steps.

All registered walkers will be rewarded with a trip to Rocketship Park with Mrs. Forshey.  If a class has 100% registration....students will be rewarded with a Dance Party in the cafeteria with a DJ!

Sign up as a virtual walker if you can not attend the event! It will count too!

Riviera Dance Team

An after-school program will be offered to fourth and fifth graders who are interested in dance (no experience required).  Come to the informational parent/student meeting in room 12 on Thursday, October 12th from 3:15 to 3:30.   Return completed forms by that day to Ms. Kumagawa in room 12.

Volunteers Needed

Adventures in Art

AIA docents are needed for the following class: Murphy (4th).  This is a fun volunteer position and does not require you to be an artist.  Each docent attends a training session where you will learn how to teach the project step by step, then you bring it back to the kids in your class.  For more information, email Jamie Bly at This email address is being protected from spambots. Nutrition

Nutrition docents are needed for the following classes: Mrs Graham & Mr. Musick:

Want to spend some time in your child's class this year?  Sign up to be a docent for our nutrition program.  This program is a partnership with Torrance Memorial and teaches kids about healthy choices and other fun things about nutrition. You will be provided with a scripted lesson to take into the classroom and share with the students. It is a small commitment, just 4 times this school year and can be done at an agreed upon time between you and the teacher.  Please contact Faye Rowell at This email address is being protected from spambots.
