 Dear Riviera Students/Parents/Guardians/Caregivers:

It is my pleasure to welcome Riviera’s new and returning students back to school for the 2017-2018 school year!

Welcome to Riviera’s new staff members:  Mimi Wong (RtI Teacher), Angelica Fernandez (School Psychologist), Gregory Eddy (Physical Education), Nicole Will (Learning Center Teacher), Jasmine Schulze (ABA Teacher), Janine Black (Speech Pathologist),Vanessa Eubanks (Behavior Analyst), Vanessa Zendejas, Roxanna Blasco, Forrest Fykes and Eui Mertins (Para-Educators).

Riviera is excited to receive brand new telephones and intercom system and Power School, the district wide student information system that will provide families with real-time insights on student grades, attendance and performance. Create your parent account ASAP.  A new basketball funnel has been purchased by the Riviera PTA and will be installed soon on the Kindergarten yard.

Class lists will be posted in front of the school office on Wednesday, September 6th around 4:00 P.M. When class lists are prepared, many factors are considered before assigning your child to a particular class. If for any reason, a class change needs to be considered, a form will be available to you in the office on the first day of school. Conferences for class change purposes will not take place until after September 15th. The primary reason for this is that classes may change due to unexpected enrollment the first few days of school.

Lunch will be served in the cafeteria on the first day of school. The cost of lunch is $3.00, which includes milk and salad/fruit bar. A monthly menu will be sent home at the beginning of each month. You can also access the lunch menu via the website listed above. Children, of course, may bring a sack lunch.  Please do not send soda and candy for lunch or for snack. All students now have an automated lunch card available for use in the cafe.  You may add any amount onto the lunch card and the cost will be debited for each lunch purchase.  Forms are available in the office.

Communication- Utilize Riviera’s website and sign up on the web page to receive Riviera’s Eblast by entering your contact email address. The school sends a Weekly Eblast with current calendar updates and important information.

I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with lots of rest, relaxation and recreation. Now let’s get ready for a great 2017-2018 school year!

Your Proud Principal,

Mrs. Christie Forshey
